Terms of Service

Journal Club AI is an academic productivity tool that uses artificial intelligence to help physicians, researchers, and medical educators prepare journal club presentations from published medical literature. The Service accepts paper abstracts, full text, or PDF uploads and returns structured summaries, critical appraisals, slide outlines, and speaker notes.

The Service is strictly for educational and informational purposes. It does not constitute medical advice and must not be used as a basis for clinical decisions.

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must notify us immediately at info@journalclubai.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
• You may not share your account or credentials with others.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Submit content you do not have the right to use (e.g. copyrighted full-text without a licence)
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract data from the Service
• Circumvent rate limits or free-tier restrictions by creating multiple accounts
• Use AI-generated output to deceive others about its origin (e.g. presenting AI summaries as original research)
• Violate any applicable law or regulation

All AI-generated content is for educational discussion purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional medical judgment. Journal Club AI makes no representations about the accuracy, completeness, or clinical suitability of any generated content. Never use Service output to guide patient care, prescribe treatments, or make clinical decisions.

Free plan

The free plan allows one (1) AI analysis per calendar month. Free-plan access does not require a credit card and continues indefinitely unless we discontinue the plan with reasonable notice.

Pro plan

Pro is a monthly subscription billed in advance. You may cancel at any time through your Account page; access continues until the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial months, except where required by applicable law.

Price changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. If you do not cancel before the new price takes effect, you accept the new price.

The Service, including its code, design, and branding, is owned by Journal Club AI and protected by applicable intellectual property law.

You retain ownership of any content you submit (paper text, abstracts). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process that content solely to provide the Service to you.

AI-generated output is provided for your personal, non-commercial educational use. You are responsible for complying with the terms of the original publications you process.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Journal Club AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €100, whichever is greater.

You may close your account at any time from your Account page. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, with or without prior notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, and your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of Germany, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by a notice on the Service. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
